P.J. president: ‘Things haven’t changed’

Frustration with the solid waste collection service being provided by Progressive Waste Solutions was more than evident during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Acadia Parish Police Jury.

The Acadia Parish Police Jury will seek reimbursement of all back rent owed by the operator of a flying service at LeGros Memorial Airport.

Progressive: ‘It was a bad week’

Everyone was expecting a fight when the Solid Waste Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury discussed recent issues with garbage collection Tuesday night.
Even the chairman of the Solid Waste Committee was hesitant about entering the fray. “I hate to get started with this,” said Richard Faul when the agenda item came up.
But the potential controversy was quickly diffused when officials from Progressive Waste Solutions admitted that there had, indeed, been a noticeable lapse in service of late.

Jurors retain former officer

The transition to a new secretary-treasurer for the Acadia Parish Police Jury will be a smooth one thanks to action approved by the jury at a special meeting Tuesday morning.
