Sportsmen’s League fishing tournament winners listed

RAYNE - The Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsored its 35th Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 22, held at all landings in Louisiana as announced by Chairman Dee DeRouen.
Fishing took place Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m. with boundaries between Texas and Mississippi. All Wildlife and Fisheries, state and local regulations were observed.
Weigh-in took place between 3-6 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Rayne with cash prizes awarded in five categories: red fish, speckled trout, flounder, drum and other (no red).
Top fishermen for the day were:
Redfish - 1st place Katelyn LeDoux (3.95 lbs.), 2nd place Katelyn LeDoux (3.63 lbs.), 3rd plae Katelyn LeDoux (3.51 lbs.)
Speck - 1st place Ryan Pellissier (1.84 lbs.), 2nd place Wilson Pellissier (1.50 lbs.), 3rd place Ryan Pellissier (1.37 lbs.)
Flounder - 1st place Noel France (2.50 lbs.); 2nd place Noel France (1.23 lbs.), 3rd place John Jude Beslin (.78 lbs.)
Drum - 1st place Henry Soileaux (38.00 lbs.), 2nd place Dee DeRouen (25.14 lbs.), 3rd place Henry Soileaux (25.03 lbs.)
Other (no red) - 1st place Kevin Istre (4.96 galf top); 2nd place Kevin Istre (4.82 galf top); 3rd place Kevin Istre (4.73 galf top).
Door prizes were also presented once the fish were weighed, and refreshments were also provided to all participants.
Thanks to the many participants and supporters of the 2019 event as expressed by the ASL for another successful tournament.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the many events and programs the Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsors throughout the year.
