Crowley Police Officer Josh McCrory was not injured when he crashed his police unit Tuesday morning in Rayne. Crowley Police Chief Jimmy Broussard said the officer was on his way to Crowley when he exited Interstate 10 at exit 87 due to the extreme congestion on the Interstate. Witnesses said the officer did not have his emergency lights or siren on and failed to yield to traffic on The Boulevard. The Rayne Police Department is investigating. Broussard said McCrory will be required to attend a defensive driving school. There were no serious injuries reported in the crash.
