Officers and members of Acadia Post 15, American Legion, were honored by a visit Friday morning from National Commander Vincent J. “Jim” Troiola of New York. Troiola said his personal goal during his year as the National Commander “is to visit the small Posts across the country to let them know how important they are to the American Legion.” Among the “welcoming party” Friday at the Post 15 Home were, from left, Tony Betts, Louisiana Department Adjutant; A.J. Jones, past Post 15 Commander; Wayne Dommert, Post 15 Commander; Glenn McFarlain, Department Executive Committeeman, 7th District; Allen Dunn, State Commander; Grace Dalton, Area B Commander, 7th District; Troiola; Charlie Aucoin, National Executive Committeeman; Frank Richard, Department Vice Commander; and David Crader, Area C District Commander. Troiola was also scheduled to visit Posts in Rayne and Church Point.
