Drivers along Louisiana Highway 35 may have thought the Branch Volunteer Fire Department was gearing up for its annual day-long benefit event when they saw the Schilling Distributors truck backed up to the station recently. But in fact, the company was there to donate a pallet of canned drinking water to the department. The water, which will be used to support wildfire response efforts, was donated through a partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council.
