Family and friends recently gathered to celebrate the 96th birthday of Wesley J. Bias, seated. A large BBQ meal was served, and Bias was presented with a certificate of appreciation signed by Acadia Parish Police Jury President Chance Henry. The certificate recognized Bias’ service as a squad leader in the United States Army, noting that he
had received the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Bias, who was born on June 7, 1926, enjoyed telling stories of his “growing up days” in Crowley. Those on hand for the Tuesday, June 7, BBQ included, standing from left, Walter Andrus, Bobby Guillory, Katrina Guillory, Anthony Bias and Leonce Washington.

Each year the Acadia Parish 4-H Program hosts an advisory committee meeting to help plan the upcoming 4-H year.
