Crowley Fire Chief Louis “Buddha” Romero, left, and Fezzo’s Manager Josh Spell eat frog legs using a fork and knife and all the etiquette they can muster during the Frog Leg Etiquette Contest Sunday at the 50th Anniversary Frog Festival in Rayne. The contestants in this particular event are judged not on how many frog legs they can eat, but on how they eat them, using proper etiquette at all times and requesting another serving by proclaiming, “Ribbit!” Both Romero and Spell were represting the International Rice Festival during the contest, Romero as the 2022 president and Spell as a past president. Note: Neither won the crown.
