Kim Gielen Gattle, right, executive director of The Grand Opera House, was guest speaker for the recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Crowley. Gattle outlined the entertainment line-up for the Opera House’s 15th season, including the “main events” and the numerous Friday Fais-Do-Do events that are planned. In addition, she reminded that a number of other activities — dance recitals, banquets, plays, even a high school band concert — are regularly held at the popular downtown venue. Members of the Rice City Seniors celebrated Mother’s Day with a “Hat Party” Monday, May 9, at the International Rice Festival Building. Members were invited to decorate a hat for the occasion and all of the mothers were given crocheted flowers.
