Lily “Nanan” Pousson
July 12, 1930 - October 4, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lily “Nanan” Pousson announces her passing on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at her home in Iota surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 209 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Jude Thierry, celebrant.
Lily, called “Nanan” by all who knew and loved her, was loved by many. She loved animals, working outdoors and gardening. Lily was also a 4-H Leader at St. Francis for many years, as well as a member of the Tee Mamou-Iota Mardi Gras Folklife Festival.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her son, David Scott Pousson of Iota; sister, Ethel P. Brown and husband Tony of Iota; grandson, Christopher J. Reed and Courtney of Eunice; nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lillian Cart Pousson; brother, Joseph Leven Pousson and wife Lorraine Pousson; sister, Esther Pousson; and nephew, Steven Pousson.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota on Monday, Oct. 7, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Monday.
