COVINGTON - Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington for Thomas J. Garrett Jr., 85, who died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2006, at his son’s home in League City, Texas.
The family has requested that visitation be observed beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Lobue Garrett of Mandeville; two sons, Paris Garrett and wife Jill of League City, Texas, and Thomas Garrett III and wife Stephanie of Rayne; stepson Vincent C. Lobue Jr. and wife Ileana; three stepdaughters, Jan Lobue-House and husband Bob, Nancy Lancaster and husband Art, and Kelly  Dellsperger and husband Keith; son-in-law Cy Mehal; brother Larry Garrett and wife Heddy of Rayne; half-brothers Terry Murr and George Garrett; half-sisters Georgia Turgeau and husband Larry and Gail Slider and husband John; brother-in-law Lucian Castro; five grandchildren, Jerry and Hyness Garrett, and Garrett, Derrick and Nathan Mehal; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Garrett Sr. and Jeanne Arendt Garrett; daughter, Jeayrane Mehal; sister, Ruth Castro; and half-bnrother, William Murr.
Mr. Garrett was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville, He was retired from William Brothers Construction Co. of Houston, Texas.
