Football, volleyball State Academic honorees
Five Rayne High School student-athletes were named during the announcement of 2021-2022 All-Academic State Teams in their respective sports.
Seniors Demi Billings and Emma Guidry were both named honorees as they maintained a 4.0 GPA while representing their school on the volleyball court. They were named to the Composite Team.
Grayci Dupuis was also recognized during the announcements as she was named to the Class All-Academic Team for maintaining a 3.8983 GPA during the 2021 volleyball season.
Rayne High football players named to the Class All-Academic Team were Jason “Deuce” Comeaux (3.9565) and Garrett Louviere (3.5593).
The LHSAA All-Academic Award Program, presented by ISC, recognizes the academic excellence of senior student-athletes who have attained a 3.5 grade point average or higher by placing them on the Composite All-Academic Team or Class All-Academic Team.
To earn Composite Team honors, a student-athlete’s six-semester GPA must have an un-weighted 4.0. The composite team (all un-weighted 4.0 students) will be honored at the LHSAA state events. These students can not even have an “B” on their transcript.
