An argument between city councilmen Vernon “Step” Martin and Lyle Fogleman came to blows Wednesday night after each was ejected from the meeting for using vulgar language. At top left, Fogleman is helped up by onlookers who (at right) intercede as Martin is led down the stairs. At lower left, audience members attempt to calm Martin as the councilman is led toward the entrance of the Municipal building. Chief Jimmy Broussard said possible charges against the two have been referred to the city prosecutor and/or the district attorney.
Accusations led to insults, which led to a physical altercation between two members of the Crowley City Council here Wednesday night.
