There are many activities that make up the annual Louisiana Swine Festival held in Basile every first weekend of November.
Announcement was made Tuesday that Harvest Fest, held annually in conjunction with the International Rice Festival, has been canceled this year.

Mayor Tim Monceaux recently visited Ross Head Start to proclaim October as Head Start Awareness Month in Crowley. There hasn’t been tremendous growth in Acadia Parish in the last year, but there has been growth, according to Assessor James “Jimbo” Petitjean.

Letha Vincent was surprised Wednesday morning when it was announced that the 2021 International Rice Festival Rice and Creole Cookbook had been dedicated to her in recognition of her many years of volunteer service as chair of the Rice and Creole Cookery Contest.
